Assessment of Likes and Dislikes

Many of us thinks to change career due to the hatred towards the company, immediate boss or HR policies. It is easy to point out dislikes in a job but you might not know the field you want to jump into unless you understand your likes. Changing career without intense introspection can lead to catastrophe situation. Before changing career make sure that you do thorough self-assessment of your values as it is essential to articulate your core values because they act like your compass at the time of uncertainty and change. Lot of people are unable to articulate their core values which tend to make same wrong choice over and over again.

 Researching New Careers

There are two essential aspects that should be considered for a successful career change. First, understand what you want to do and second is you should also understand what marketplace will allow you to do. Spend some valuable time in researching new field. Perceive your passion and research the careers you can opt for, that center around your passions. Initially, if you feel unsure or insecure don’t be anxious as it is natural part of career change process.

Transferable skills

Let me remind you whole-some plan of changing career doesn’t make you fresher, you still have combination of assets like personality, skill-sets, ability of handling work pressure, communication, leadership, planning and many other which vary from person to person. You might be astonished to know that you already have solid amount of experience for your new career but again research can help you to determine which of your skills are transferable.
